Ball did not spun unlike at Pune, It did not test batsmen like it tested on Bangalore. Ranchi, which hosted international match for the first time, gave a great welcome to the Aussie team. After accumulating huge confidence from the victory in second test, India nerves started shivering again.Maxwell and Steven smith placed Australia in commanding position at the end first day of third test. Australia are inching towards big score with their partnership. Virat Kohli was injured on day while chasing a ball from reaching boundary.
India did not had a bad start to test match. They were able to pick three wickets in first session of day 1. David Warner ,who looked set, hit a ball straight back to Jadejas and opened the gates for Aussie line up. Matt Renshaw was unable to capitalize the start he got. He chased the ball iutside off stump and got caught at slips. Shaun Marsh once again failed to make an impact on this tour. Peter Handscomb stayed for a while at the crease with th skipper, got caught in front of wickets to Umesh Yadav. Maxwell ,Who replaced injured Mitchell Marsh ,came in at no 6 . Then the real trouble started for Indians. Maxwell and smith played on till stumps with out taking much damage. Umesh Yadav Picked up two wickets while Jadeja and Ashwin picked a wicket each. Ishant Sharma was wicket less on day 1.
Maxwell scored 63 runs of the 105 runs scored on Day 1 of third test. India would like to take advantage of early hours of day 2 .If not, Aussies will certainly reach 500 and rule out any probable chances of losing a test match. If Virat doesn’t come out to bat ,Aussies will be huge favorites to win the test Match
