Second ODI:SL VS ENG Live score

After a cliff hanger at Trent bridge, England and Srilanka move to Birmingham to open their wins column. England would be more than happy with the result, after losing 6 wickets for just 82 runs and were in dire situation. It was Jos butler again assisted by Chris Woakes calm downed the nerves and brought England back in to the game. But, Srilanka would be disappointed after slipping the game from a winning situation. Lack of Experience can be said as the major factor for the downfall.

Cricbuzz score card below

Will Jason Roy play?

According to Cricinfo Jason Roy is expected to play though is suffering from wrist injury. Alex Hales is certain to abet him. Result might not be pleasing for England, but First ODI definitely exposed their batting Depth. Adil Rashid, who opens in county cricket, coming at no11 for England threatens any opposition bowling. Opponents have to take 10 quality wickets  to restrict England.

IS Eoin Morgan following Brendon McClummn?

Eoin Morgan, England skipper, Seems to be emulating Brendon McCullum. He always seem to attack no matter the situation is. With the kind o batting line up he has, he definitely posses leverage to go aggressive. We saw Liam Plunket, who comes at no 10,clared the fence at will when it needed the most. Only concern for him is the bowling versatility.  Moin Ali can be vulnerable on not his very good day.

Islanders fully Charged with Confidence

Result might be a pleasing one, but definitely instilled confidence in srilankan squad. Unfortunately, their best player and skipper, is incertain to play the second ODI. Kusal perara has completely changed the complexion of Srilankan batting order. But there seems no one to be supporting him in the top order. Their middle order and lower looks rock solid with Chandimal and Angelo Mathews. Even their lower order seems to par with the likes of Dasun Shanka and Sekkuga Prasanna.
