India VS Srilanka Score Card

First of three match ODI series against Srilanka will commence from today. Srilanka has new skipper from now in the name of Thisera Perera. India also play with their acting skipper Rohit Sharma in the absence of  Regular Virat Kohli. Virat Kohli is unavailable from ODI tour due to his marriage. India will play this match without some of its key players. Dharmasala will host the first ODI.

Though India won the test series 1-0 , Srilanka is said to be over performed in test series. They entered as strong darkhorses in to the series. Much worse performance was expected from them . Only three players from test squad are in included in the ODI’s. Matthews, Niroshan Dickwella and Suranga Lakmal are three of them. Their skipper Thisers Perera.

India are firm favourites even in the absence of key players like Virat Kohli . Kedhar Jadhav is also not available to play. Shikhar Dhawan is also doubtful to participate in the ODI. Rehana is also not in great touch. Dhoni in recent times is not the Dhoni anymore in the tour. One positive for India is Hardhik  Pandya back in the team after being rested for Test series.Washington Sunder is named in the place of Kedhar JAdhav.

Rohit Sharma is has proved his leadership skills in IPL. He has won two titles in IPL. He has not proven his leadership skills at International Level. This is a golden opportunity for him in to prove his skills at apex level. Upul Tharanga has given up captaincy but was able sustain his place in the side. India is not as good as side played against New Zealand,

Dharmasala has always been batting friendly. India scored 330 at this venue against West Indies when they last played here. No hurdles from whether are anticipcated.
