India Vs Srilanka Preview
After a lot of drama, Ravi Shastri is appointed as team India’s coach. He Replaced Anil Kumble, who can be said as successful. India will head to their neighboring nation, Srilanka, to play all three formats in the series. Three tests, Five ODI’s and a t20 will be played. India will play a two day practice match before the start of series.
KL Rahul is back after Injury to open with Rohit Sharma, who was also rested for series against West Indies. Ajinkya Rehane will continue as Vice Captain. Ravi Shastri in Press conference said team alone is responsible for the current number one position of team India.
Virat Kohli said that is he is more matured now than the last visited Srilanka. India are playing a bilateral Series against Srilanka after two years of hiatus. Galle will host the opening test between two nations. Match will commence from 10am IST. Colombo will host 2nd test along with final two ODI’s and a lone t20.Hardhik Pandya is included in the test squad for the first time. Kuldeep yadav might also make his debut. Another new entrant in to the squad is Abhinav mukund. Kandy will host 2nd and 3rd ODI’s along with third test. Dambula will host one match in the season, first ODI. Regular opener Murali vijay is ruled out from the series due to injury Dravid and Zaheer Khan are appointed as batting and bowling coaches respectively. Karun Nair is dropped from the test squad. He also said that he will be happy to play with whatever position he is assigned.
Srilanka
Angelo Mathews has voluntarily stepped down as captain. Upul tharanga is appointed captain for tests too.
