Second test: India VS New Zealand Match story

• India clinched first spot in ICC test rankings.
• Second test finished in four days.
• New Zealand all out for 197 while chasing 376.
• Wridhimann Saha received man of the match for the first time.

Last week India was successful in historic 500^th test.250^th test at home also ended in India’s favour. Eden Garden hosted the 250^th test.

There is nt any doubt that India played under unfavourable conditions. Unlike other Indian pitches, Eden gardens is not friendly to spinners. But India managed to win under unfavourable conditions. Saha became fifth Indian batsmen to be not out in both the innings. He scored half centuries in both the innings.

Performances

Kohli once again failed by his standards. Though Rohit Sharma failed in first innings, He negated the failure with a crucial 82 in Second innings. Had he not come to rescue in second innings, India would have struggled in the historic test. Dahwan, who came in place of KL Rahl, failed on both the occasions. This is favourable to Gautham ghambhir.

Seven Down in One Session

India managed to survive only for half an hour on day 4 morning. Kiwis openers gave a blinder of a start. The resisted for one hour at the crease before the fall of first wicket. NZ were on 55 without any losses. At the completion of second seesion, New Zealnd scored 135, but lost three key wickets. But in the concluding session India managed to pick up remaining 7 wickets and avoided fifth day play. This is 11 victory since lost any test. 117 is the highest score chased down at Eden Garden. So deaft wwas inevitable for Kiwis without the help Rain god. But the way kiwi openers batted, Every body thought that the test would go down the wire.

Spinners Ahswin and Jadeja scalped 3 wickets each. Shammi also picked up three wickets .Ronchi was the top scorer in Kiwi batting.
