- Warm-up match Against Mumbai.
Kiwis are to play a warm up match against Mumbai before playing a series of Five One days and 3 tests. They have started well at Whankade in the warm up match. The warm-up match which will last three days has started yesterday. Their batting unit lived beyond their expectations. They have fully used the match for batting practice.
Kiwis Looked Confidant
Kiwis were sent in to bat after losing the toss. Williamson is the appointment as the skipper after the retirement of Brendon McCullumn. Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rehane are the stalwarts in the Mumbai team. New Zealand declared the innings also. They scored 325 runs in 15 overs before Williamson declared the innings. They lost seven wickets of the 325 runs.
New Zealand lost Martin Guptill when New Zealand score was just 30. Guptil only managed to score 15 runs on decent cricketing wicket. Kane Williamson and Tim Latham scored fifties .Both of them retired to give their rest of team a batting opportunity. Micheal Santner and Taylor have just missed fifties with the scores of 45 and 4 respectively. Out of 75 overs in New Zealand innings 49 have been bowled by spinners. As the pitch is not friendly for Spinners, they couldn’t give optimal effect.
Both the teams included 15 members. Though Rohit Sharma is in the squad, he fielded only for few over’s. There is a decent chance that Rohit Sharma will bat today.
